Spring Term 1: Monday 6th January 2025 – Friday 14th February 2025

Opening Hours are 7.30 am - 5.30 pm.

Welcome back after our Christmas Break.

We hope you like our freshly painted preschool!


We would like to thank our painter and decorator Tony from our village of Brighstone who stepped up at the last minute to complete the job over the Christmas period.

 Thank you to everyone who supported us, re placing the furniture in a mad rush on Sunday before the Monday to start. 

All help is always very much appreciated!


We welcome new parents and children to the setting this half term. 


Thank you for taking part and supporting us with our Raffle and Christmas Fair. We raised £97.00!


Our weekly visits to the library for children 3+ will continue (Alternate Tuesday and Thursdays). 

We have had some wonderful comments from the public on positive behaviour from the children.

 We will continue visits throughout this term. 


We will be continuing to wear slippers inside. Please provide slippers that can stay in the setting as well as waterproof suits and wellies for outside when appropriate. We will be outside Whatever the weather!


Reminder, we accept government funding and payment through tax free childcare.

9 months -1 year £7.50 an hour

1 year- 2 years £6.75 an hour

2- 3 years £6.50 an hour

3- school age £6.00

£5.00 sustainability charge every week.

 

Make sure you confirm your funding every

3 months when requested.

 

Wrap around care

Breakfast Club for school age children:

 7.30-8.25 am £6.00

Afterschool Club for school age children:

 3.00- 5.30pm £6.00 an hour + 25p Snack

Morning Snack:9.30am -10.30am

Please provide a healthy snack, we recommend a piece of fruit, yoghurt or cheese.


No Water Bottles in the setting please

We use fresh, cool water from a fountain with cups.


School Dinners

are available from Chartwells caterers

£3.56 per meal.

Please book before 9.00 am.


Pack Lunches

Please provide your child with a named lunch box. 

May we politely remind you that you are mindful of the contents when sending lunch boxes into preschool.

Please make sure that you stick to the hours you have booked for your child.

 The preschool days and outings are planned around these times.

HOLIDAY CLUB at Brighstone Preschool


Open to children 9 months – 11 years.

Monday 17th- Friday 21st February


Bookings are now being taken on our online google form.

Please request the link if you have not already received this.


Bookings to be made by Friday 31st January 2025.

Our new garden area has been fenced!



As we approach the spring, we will be asking for your support to help prepare our area and make it ready for the children to access.

Mother’s Day gifts wanted please


We are looking for any unused/unwanted gifts

(Hand cream, ornaments, shower/bath products, notebooks, jewellery, chocolate)


We will then be running a Mother’s Day ‘shop’ for a donation: 

£1, £2, £5 gift.


From the 24th to the 28th of March your child will be given the opportunity to choose a gift to the value of your donation and wrap it ready to give to someone who shares the Mother’s Day experience with them.

Communication is key. 


Any WOW moments, concerns or question please share these with a member of staff or your child’s Key worker.

Dropping off and collecting your child. 


Please make sure that there is only 1 adult in the Foyer collecting or dropping off at any one time.

Illness


To keep preschool as illness free as possible, we ask that if your child is unwell, or that if you have administered Calpol or ibuprofen YOU DO NOT SEND THEM IN.

Remember to report any absence from preschool.

The current legislation is that children suffering from diarrhoea or vomiting

should remain at home for 48 hours after the last bout.
