Autumn Term 2: Monday 4th November 2024

We look forward to a busy term ahead, we welcome Izzy to our Preschool Staff team as she joins us for her level 2 Apprenticeship with HTP. We also welcome new parents and children to the setting. 

Please make sure that you stick to the hours you have booked for your child.

The preschool days and outings are planned around each around these.

Morning Snack: 9.30am -10.30am

Please provide a healthy snack, we recommend a piece of fruit, yoghurt, or cheese.

 

No Water Bottles in the setting, we use fresh, cool water from a fountain with cups.

 

School Dinners are available with Chartwells.

£3.56 per meal.

Please book before 9.00 am.

 

Pack Lunches: Please provide your child with a named lunch box.

We encourage sandwiches first with a healthy filling in, fruit, milk-based desert yoghurt or crème fraiche.

Please avoid where possible pack premade food.

We also follow Government advice not to have Popcorn, or Sausages in the setting for children under 5 years.

 

Please cut small round foods, like grapes, strawberries and cherry tomatoes, lengthways and into quarters.


NO SWEETS

 

We continue to be a food allergy aware preschool.

NO NUTS.

We are requesting that you are mindful of this when sending food into the preschool.


Reminder we except government funding and payment through tax free childcare.

9 months -1 year £7.50 an hour

1 year- 2 years £6.75 an hour

2- 3 years £6.50 an hour

3- school age £6.00

£5.00 sustainability charge every week.

 

Wrap around care

Breakfast Club for school age children: 7.30-8.25 am £6.00

Afterschool Club for school age children: 3.00- 5.30pm £6.00 an hour + 25p Snack

 

We are CLOSED for Christmas Break

 21/12/24 - 05/01/25.

To keep preschool as illness free as possible, we ask that if you child is unwell or that if you have administer calpol or ibuprofen 


YOU DO NOT SEND THEM IN.

The current legislation is that children with: 

- Diarrhoea or vomiting should remain at home for 48 hours after the last bout.

- Chicken Pox should remain at home until all vesicles are crusted over.

Any WOW moments, concerns or question please share these with a member of staff or your child Key worker.

We will be continuing to wear slippers inside, and waterproof suits and wellies outside when appropriate. 

We will be outside ‘Whatever the weather'.

Please provide slippers to stay in the setting.

Our new garden area has been fenced, we will be asking for support as we come up to spring to help prepare our area to make this ready for the children to access.

  • Monday 11th November: Remembrance Day we will join the primary school at 11.00 for a minute silence.
  • Friday 15th November: Children in need, wear yellow to preschool for a donation (£1)
  • Monday 18th November: Admissions round for Primary School 2025 applications opens.
  • Monday 18th November: Road Safety Week.
  • Thursday 5th- Sunday 8th December: Brigshtone Tree Festival: Brighstone Preschool tree will be in the Methodist church on Wilberforce Road.
  • Saturday 7th December: BSA (Brighstone School Association) Christmas Fair 1pm-4pm
  • Wednesday 18th December: Wear your favourite Christmas Jumper for save the children donation.
  • Friday 20th December: Christmas Dinner £3.56: Speak to Rosanna to book in advance.
  • Friday 20th December: Last day of term.

The UK government is expanding childcare support to assist working families with young children. In September 2025, the UK government will fully expand its childcare support, offering eligible working parents 30 hours additional support per week for children under 5.
